Anna Cluxton, LMT CEMT MBA
I am a human and equine massage therapist. I am certified by the State Medical Board of Ohio as a Licensed Massage Therapist, having graduated with honors in 2015 from an accredited school. Additionally, I have over 50 hours of certifications in myofascial release. In 2017, became certified in equine myofascial release, and equine myo-manipulative functional therapy.
My professional background is in project management in the world of cancer research, patient support programs, and healthcare management. I worked with patients and medical providers every day. But I had begun to feel disconnected, and lacked a passion for my work. I am also a breast cancer survivor of 20 years, having been diagnosed at a young age. Over the years, I became interested in complementary and alternative medicines. I researched into incorporating natural healing methods, nutrition, and holistic practices in order to bring balance into my life. I learned about the supportive benefits of using essential oils.
Several years ago, I decided to change my professional career to one that offered me a means to help others in a more personal and healing way. I sought out education and certification to support this passion. I received my degree, with honors, and then my license in therapeutic massage. Additionally I obtained certification in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach® to the treatment of pain and took MFR 1.
I have since completed MFR2, Myofascial Mobilization, and Equine MFR1 (all Barnes method courses).

I ride and compete in the discipline of dressage, a very structured and biomechanics equine sport. I understand the aches, pains, and specific areas of the body that are impacted in riding and working around horses. I have had my fair share of spills and trauma, and can relate to the needs of serious athletes as well as weekend warriors.
In 2017, I completed the first seminar of Barnes MFR Equine Massage. This course not only helped me take the first steps towards treating horses, but also honed skills I use in humans. In 2018 I expanded my services to treat both riders and horses - a real dream!
I strive to blend my professional and personal experience to design a plan to fit your needs and goals. I am honored to work closely with several area chiropractors, primary care physicians, oncologists, and sports medicine physicians. I feel it is important to understand evidence-based methods of care, to incorporate integrative healthcare methods, to view a person as a whole, and to work with a person coming from a place in the heart, soul, and mind, as well as the body.
